Excellant reference for CAD designers and engineers.

Although this text was written several years ago, it contains a wealth of information about descriptive geometry that is still applicable today. It does an excellent job of walking a person through true length and true size/shape theorems. There are several solved problems and unsolved problems after each chapter. It is an excellent reference for development of shapes of intersecting prisms and layouts of these intersections. Applications for this book can be found in roof design, sheet metal fabrication, cut and fill, topology, vector geometry and more. I teach computer-aided design (CAD) classes for a college and I use this text as my primary text for descriptive geometry. CAD drawings can't always answer true length/size questions. That is why this book is so vital, It is no longer in print and I would recommend buying a copy while you can.

Good for engineers and scientists, but few others...

Be advised--this is not analytical geometry. It is about three dimensional technical drawing for engineers and scientists. I was surprised, since I thought three-D technical drawings were all done on CAD, not by hand. Also, the graphics were not very big, so you could lose yourself in a drawing.
I found the chapter and subheadings easy to misconstrue. For instance, "Intersection of Planes," was about how to draw intersecting planes, not about how to compute where they would intersect, angles of intersection, etc.
If technical drawing is what you want, this review may help. Otherwise, be aware that you will not learn much else from this.
