About the Author

Soraya M. Coley is president of Cal Poly Pomona University. Prior to that she served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University Bakersfield, and at Alliant International University, as well as dean of the College of Human Development and Community Service at California State University, Fullerton. She has nearly 30 years of higher education experience and has worked with nonprofits, community-based and civic organizations on program design, evaluation, and grant writing. �

Cynthia Scheinberg is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 24 years of administrative management in non-profit agencies. She has served as the Executive Director of the Coalition for Children, Adolescents and Parents (CCAP) in Orange, California, as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services for Anka Behavioral Health, Inc., and as the Executive Director of New Connections in Concord, California. She has a doctorate in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Scheinberg also has a part-time private practice in Concord, CA.

If you are thinking of buying the kindle version of this book for school don't

This is for the kindle edition only. If you are thinking of buying the kindle version of this book for school don't. The kindle version doesn't include the correct page numbers. So you won't be able to follow in class more cite page number in a paper. I purchased a kindle paper white with the intention of getting my textbooks on the kindle so I wouldn't have to lung heavy books to class, I would always have my books with me incase I need to reference them and I could search my note. I only found out it din't have page numbers after I bought it and was on the phone with tech support for 20 minutes, very disappointing. I retuned the kindle version and I need to buy the proper book

About the Author
David Kroenke has been a sailor since 1971 and currently owns a Mason 44. He has cruised the West Coast extensively, roamed the Inside Passage and the coast of British Columbia, and sailed to Mexico and back. His next Big Trip is a voyage to the Marquesas. A standard work on the subject

This is one of the few standard books on the subject of the Andamanese Negrito - and the earliest written by a professional anthropologist. No serious student of the subject can afford to be without it. Based on field work done by the young Radcliffe-Brown 1906-08, he only published it in 1922, the book undergoing several subsequent reprints and revisions. At the time of his field work, aboriginal society had been under great strain for half a century and was well on the way to extinction. Brown's results therefore have to be taken with some degree of caution, at least far as traditional Andamanese society is concerned. This being the very first work of the inexperienced young scientist, unsurprisingly, there are a number of shortcomings: the book is virtually our only major source on the north Great Andamanese tribes (earlier authors had concentrated on the southern tribes) yet Brown often fails to distinguish between the various northern tribes. This lamentable fact reduces the value of his observations, especially in linguistics. He also did not seem so much interested in collecting new information than in "explaining" and theorizing on the cultural features he found. With hindsight, it would have been very much better if he had gone easy on the theory and collected more new information more carefully. I am not a paid reviewer. I bought this book. I have the whole series and can't wait for the next one. The first 4 books are awesome. Read and reread these books number of times. I kept going to Ms. Cothern blog page to find out when this book was coming out. NO DISAPPOINTMENT AT ALL. I will be anxiously waiting for book 6 now. On an off note if you have read shifters and assassins books book by sandrine gasq-dion then you will recognize the reference in this book. If you have not read them then you need too. Both of these authors are on my top favorite lists and will read them over and over. Thank you to both authors for writing books that I gladly and hole heartily do not mind spending my very low income on!!!!

Mad Dogs book 5 - the good and the bad.

The Good: well let's see.......how about EVERYTHING!!! Thought book 4 was awesome but book 5.....bloody brilliant. The guilt (and an idiot moment) of B, the worry of M, the possible devastation of H, the wait on Doc, the nervousness of Oh towards the end of the book and of course the glee of El for getting to blow things up. Also, Duke, while not becoming a Mad Dog, joins the unit.

Oh yeah........and the sex.........can't forget about THAT. B finally makes M a VERY happy man.

The Bad: I read too damn fast and now have to wait for the next book. Started re-reading books 1-4 but still over to soon and the waiting commences.

Absolutely love this series and probably will never get enough

So Far the Best in the Series

I think so far this is my most anticipated book yet from Brenda Cothern and her Mad Dogs. The last book left on a cliffhanger, so I was so excited when this book finally came out. Some questions get answered, but there are a ton more questions that get raised in this series. While I did receive an ARC for an honest review, I'm also planning on buying a physical copy to complete my set, so far, of the series. This shifter series is far different from others that I read and follow, and the different plot twists and surprises that get mixed into the story are phenomenal. Now that this book is done, I'm anxiously awating the next! I definitely recommend this series to any ahifter fan, especially those that enjoy MM shifter stories.

Frontier orbital theory looks at how the transition state of an organic reaction is affected by the interaction of the molecular orbitals of the starting materials. It thus complements the more familiar thermodynamic picture of transition states, in which product-like character is seen as influencing the ease and the course of reactions. The theory is presented very simply, without mathematics, stressing physical principles and assuming only that the reader is familiar with the concept of a molecular orbital as a linear combination of atomic orbitals. This book thus makes frontier orbital theory accessible for the first time to readers at every level. About the Author
IAN FLEMINGstudied in Cambridge, obtaining his BA in 1959 and PhD (with Dr J Harley-Mason) in 1962. He spent one year at Harvard University (with Professor RB Woodward) before returning to Cambridge, where he is now an Assistant Director of Research and a Fellow of Pembroke College. He was a Visiting Professor at McGill University in 1972. His research interests centre on synthetic organic chemistry and on understanding the mechanisms of chemical reactions.

For any chemistry major I cannot recommend this book enough. It is one of the musts to really understanding organic chemistry... and compared to the textbooks the exercises are... dare I say fun?

Even better than Moonraker

Fleming's science and mathematical texts are top-notch. My first exposure to his work was when I was given a copy of "Casino Royale," a book on casino probabilities and card-counting. While it was a little out of my field, learning about systems like High-Low as well as Effect of Removal definitely improved my understanding of on-the-fly statistical projections. A few years later, I read Moonraker for a course on orbital ballistics - this was much more my speed, and I learned a great deal about hyperbolic and parabolic trajectories. More recently, I read (mostly for recreational purposes) "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," which, while aimed at a juvenile audience, still greatly enhanced my knowledge of internal combustion engines - hey, I'm a rocket surgeon, not a mechanical engineer. His most recent text, "Frontier Orbitals and Organic Chemical Reactions," while less imaginatively-named than his earlier works, still facilitated my understanding of peroxide-based liquid fuels and how to correctly predict outer-shell orbital interactions as well as electron pushing for that murky area between the organic and inorganic fields of chemistry, oxidation.

Highly recommended.

The best book I have read on music!

My teacher at the school of music told me she was going to make little BAchs out of us! Well, we did all the harmony theory...wrote chorals and when I graduated I went on to compose POP!! Haha what a laugh that was! Little bachs going for pop! Buddy you have no idea!!! This author is amazing. He tells you all the tools and secrets right down to the detail of how to compose POP music. Forget the classical harmony you learned because it is a whole different ball game in POP! He is an excellent teacher! Between all 103 music books I have studied this was number 1!!! I have no hesitation in recommending this book. Just 1 point though...it would have been perfect had there been an audio CD with it to listen to the examples. Thank you and God Bless!

Very clear and concise

Jai Josefs has a real gift for teaching.

This is easily the best book that I've read on pop music theory and structure. Not only does he cover all the material in a way that isn't boring, he adds even more interest with examples from familiar music.

After borrowing a copy from my local library I decided it was essential and bought my own copy.

Finally Got It

This book is as good as Rikky Rooksby's best book: The Songwriting Sourcebook. Actually, I take that back, it's BETTER. I learned about secondary dominants, secondary subdominants, writing in minor keys, and borrowed chords, which Rikky Rooksby's book doesn't cover quite as well. Do yourself a favor and read this book...TWICE.

Awesome Book For Lit Theory

This book was so helpful in understanding the theories used in my very first Literary Theory class. I found the explanations to be much easier to comprehend than in my Lit book. I would recommend the book for anyone who is new (or not) to the Theories in Literature.

Informative

I liked reading this for the most part. At the end of each chapter (or theory, since that's how they break it up) they put the theory to use using the stories in the back of the book. I found myself skipping the end of every chapter because I understood what they were talking about without seeing it. I'd obviously never pick the book up and read it for pleasure but it was very good for understanding aspects of my critical theory class.

Tyson's work rocks

This text was the main text for my Intro to Lit. Crit. class this summer. She presents the theories clearly and with excellent examples--and even if she repeats the sample texts, the differences between theories makes it seem like a new story/poem/novel. I liked it very much as did my students.
